Christmas time in the South

Before heading out to a tropical Christmas, we tried to soak up every bit of the Christmas festivity we could here in North Carolina. We visited the downtown festival of lights with live music (bluegrass, in true southern fashion) free antlers (see picture on previous post) and a giant Christmas tree. We went to our church Christmas party where Bojangles was served (Buttery biscuits with salty salty ham you yankees just can't find) and our friends the Leinbachs (whose ancestors settled nearby Winston-Salem) invited us to their neighborhood Christmas celebration. It involved donkeys. I felt like a real southerner.
Grant couldn't wait to get away from Santa at our church Christmas party.Collin was more curious.I think that's how they each felt about the donkey too.
