Best buds

Since the boys were born I have been trying to help them find a comfort object they can love. I figured it would make my job easier if they had a toy to comfort them at night. They have silky blankies, teddy bears, sock monkeys and an assortment of other stuffed animals. Our house is littered with teething toys and books, noisemakers and blocks. But unfortunately, their only attachment is to their parents. Even their bottles held no emotional attachment, which is why it was cake to break them of the habit.

But finally Collin has found a comfort object he loves. I never expected it. He couldn't care less about his toys or blankies, his pacifiers or sippy cups. He has decided the only good toy for him is ... my cell phone. I have to hide it from him all day long. When Zach calls he howls when he sees the phone in my hands. When I let him play with it, he walks the halls, mumbling and flipping the phone over and over in his hands, opening and closing it. I tried to give him an old cell phone, but he knows the difference. He thinks my cell phone is where it's at.

So I hope you'll understand if he accidentally dials your number while you're in an important work meeting or at the movie theater or at church or sleeping at 5 in the morning. If you're in my contacts list, you are not immune. My apologies in advance!

Isn't it crazy how they know the difference? Max was obsessed with my laptop for awhile so we got him his own toy one. Didn't work. He still abuses mine whenever he sees it.

Hilarious. How does the saying go? Be careful what you wish for? :)

Ah ha ha. Too bad cell phones aren't very cuddly.

That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. They are getting so big!
