Mother's Day Advice

Last year, on Mother's Day in Ohio, all of the women at church received the traditional carnation as a sweet gesture of gratitude. A month later, on Father's day, all of the men, Father's and Father's-to-be, were invited to enjoy a donut and chocolate milk after church. I stood in the hallway waiting for Zach to collect his donut as mother after mother walked by and told me they wished they got donuts on Mother's day. Interesting. Just thought you might appreciate that information before Mother's day rolled around again.

No kidding! Why do we always get flowers and they get food? If they were smart, we would get the food and they would get flowers. Then they wouldn't get mad when we took their gifts anyway. :o)

I'd LOVE a donut! And in my ward growing up the men went ALL out and would have a luncheon in the cultural hall the third hour. It was tough as a kid to go find your mom after church and have to smell all that delicious food and not get any yourself.

Funny you put this on there. It was my idea for the donuts and milk and let me tell you the fight I had to put up to make that happen. Apparently they haven't ever done anything for the dads until last year. CRAZY!!!
Anyway, this year they gave us all roses and that was after they walked into RS and announced that only those who were mothers were to get one. It made me really sad that there were so many left out.
